Symptoms

When implants of different types are configured in Ponemah  acquisition protocol, for some channels the signal morphology looks right, but the scale of the signal amplitude may be erroneous, like in the example below.

Affected Ponemah version:  Ponemah 5.5

Solution

The problem occurs generally when implants of different types (i.e. L21 and  L11) are configured within the acquisition protocol. To prevent the calibration range to get mixed between different signal channels,  the following points have to be considered when the acquisition protocol is created:

1. Start from a blank protocol (no channels configured). A blank protocol is attached to this KB and can be used.

The user can also create a blank protocol by removing the APR and implants from the hardware configuration, then do an Autoconfigure Protocol and then save.

2. Select the implants under  “Hardware->Select Implants” in exactly the same order as they were configured under Hardware Configuration.

Observations:

• If channels have to be disabled after the protocol was saved, then the channels should be disabled only  from Setup->P3 Setup-Channel Input Setup (not from HW configuration window!)

• The calibration problem may also occur when  implants of the same type are configured , but after the protocol was saved, channels are disabled or enabled under Hardware Configuration.

  • If channels need to be disabled, they MUST be disabled ONLY from Setup->P3 Setup-Channel Input Setup
  • If channels need to be added and more implants are configured in the protocol, on generally need to redo the protocol from a BLANK protocol. The order of the channels is important.
