Computer does not recognize Ponemah's USB dongle
Issue: Ponemah license USB dongle is not being recognized by the computer
Symptoms:
- Ponemah USB dongle light does not stay on when plugged into the local computer.
- Ponemah will give a warning message with the following phrase
Error reading Software Key:
The Software License Key was not found
Exiting Ponemah
- The Device Manager does not list "SafeNet USB SuperPro" or "SafeNet USB SuperPro/UltraPro" under Universal Serial Bus Controllers" like the following image:
Instead it is listed as an "Other Device" with a question mark
Solution:
Go to the following website to update the driver
https://sentinel.gemalto.com/support-downloads/sentinel-drivers/
Click on the Sentinel System Driver Installer for Sentinel SuperPro, UltraPro, & SHK, for Windows.
NOTE:
Ponemah USB dongle will look like one of the following.
If it looks like the following USB drive, it is not a Ponemah dongle. This is a USB drive that has Ponemah software and other pertinent files.
