ART Manual: Configuring and Using the Distributed Receiver Array (DRA)
Dataquest A.R.T. reached its End of Life (EOL) in July 2015 and is no longer available for purchase. For information on continued support, please see DSI Software Support Lifecycle policy for software product support and discontinuation guidelines.Due to technology upgrades and software compatibility, DSI cannot guarantee the functionality of Dataquest ART on computers manufactured after July 2015.
This example demonstrates the DRA setting at 4. This means that there will be 4 receivers per cage. The DRA function automatically groups adjacent jacks. The Configuration program automatically selects the location of the primary receiver and allows the calibrations of the transmitter or converter to be entered only on this jack. This primary jack will always be the lowest numbered jack.
Configuration
-
Select the Data Exchange Matrix, right click, and choose Properties to display the Matrix Properties window.
-
Under the DRA section, choose the number of receivers that are to be grouped.
-
Click OK. The Configuration window appears.
Note the following:-
B and C jacks on a DRA Data Exchange Matrix are shown grouped (e.g., C1-C2)
-
Receivers on a DRA show model number and "DRA", followed by the animal ID
-
Receivers or converters on a non-DRA jack on card A show model number and serial number followed by the animal ID.
-
Notes
-
If using an odd number of receivers to monitor an animal, use the DRA grouping option that best suits your needs. For example, if you need 3 receivers per cage, choose a grouping of 4 and leave one of the jacks on the Data Exchange Matrix of that group empty.
-
The DRA function is supported only by new generation receiver models.
-
It only applies to the B and C rows of the selected Data Exchange Matrix.
-
Old generation receivers (any RLA or RA receiver) and additional new generation receivers (those connected through a Data Exchange Matrix) can be connected to B1-C8 of another non-DRA Data Exchange Matrix in the system to monitor animals individually.
-
It is recommended that the DRA function be set up before entering any calibration values.
