Symptoms

In Ponemah versions ≤6.30, there is potential that the program could close in the middle of collection. This is a bug related to the built-in process monitoring program. When this error occurs,Ponemah will silently close with no warning and no errors/popups. There are a couple logs that can be used to identify this issue.

1. Windows Application log
   The Windows Application log will contain 2 errors, one is a .NET error which causes the fault and the following is the Application error where Ponemah unexpected closes.
   
   
   
   
2. Ponemah log - The Ponemah log-file-ponemah.txt contains logs from the Ponemah program. In this log there will be an error logged at the time of the unexpected shutdown. 
   
   
   

In both logs there is a line indicating the 'ProcessMonitor', which is the Ponemah monitor causing the crash.

Resolution

To correct this, the Process Monitor can be disabled. In Ponemah:

1. Select Setup | Application Configuration menu.
2. Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to the line near the bottom called SystemMonitor.Processes.Level.
3. Set this value to 0.
   
   
   
   
4. Select OK.
5. Close Ponemah and reopen.
