Ponemah v6.x - Unable to create registry entry, verify user is a member of the Power Users group.
Symptoms
The user gets an error message "Unable to create registry entry, verify user is a member of the Power Users group." when trying to start Ponemah.
AND
The Windows Account being used is not a member of the Administrators Group.
Reason
The problem is that when a Windows Account is launching Ponemah 6.x for the first time, that Windows Account needs to write to the registry. This occurs whenever a new Windows Account is used to start the software. For the first run using that specific Windows Account, the account needs to have Administrator level privileges. After the Windows Account runs the software as an Administrator, it can then be demoted to a User level account.
Resolution
Add the Windows Account to the Administrators group. After doing this, the user will need to log off, and log back into Windows to apply the changes to their account. Then they will need to start Ponemah. After this, they can remove the Windows Account from the Administrators group and run Ponemah as normal.
This process must be repeated for ANY additional User level Windows Accounts that will be using Ponemah 6.x.
