Collecting External ECG Using PhysioTel Digital Implants
A PhysioTel Digital implant can be used externally with a few modifications to collect surface ECG. This use case will be most common with the M01 implant because it has a single biopotential channel and its small size is convenient for medium sized animals which are too small to use Jacketed External Telemetry (JET). It is possible to connect other implant models with biopotential leads if desired.
In order to collect surface ECG, the ECG lead ends need to have connectors attached in order snap onto standard ECG electrodes. The following parts will need to be ordered in order to connect the implant ECG leads.
Parts needed for External ECG setup:
Snap ends for ECG electrodes |
012311-001 |
Soldered middle joint to connect ECG leads to snap ends |
012538-001 |
Lead Coupler Kit |
276-0031-001 |
Lead Crimp Tool |
276-0019-001 |
Connector part 012538-001 is pictured below. The exposed wire end of this piece will be connected to the ECG lead coming from the implant using the lead coupler kit. The socket end will simply plug into the ECG snap electrode. For reference on how to connect lead wires using the lead coupler, refer to the lead coupler manual.
