FinePointe Accuracy Improvements
As part of DSI’s ongoing product improvement process, we are pleased to announce the following
improvements which will increase the accuracy of your FinePointe system:
- Improved manufacturing specification of water column Calibrator
- Improved baseline accuracy with a firmware upgrade for WBP and NAM controllers
By implementing these improvements, accuracy of flow and volume measurements will increase by up to 18.9%, to a new accuracy specification of +/- 10.7 %. Checking the accuracy of your calibrator and installing the firmware update may alter the calculated flow and volume values by a small amount. As with any change to a laboratory system, it is not recommended to implement these calibrator or firmware improvements during an ongoing study.
- FinePointe Calibrator
For several years, Buxco has been successfully utilizing an acrylic material water column calibrator for the FinePointe series of products. DSI has identified that a small number of these calibrators were manufactured with a volume outside of the 7.4 +/- 0.2 ml specification.
Please use the following link to access the Checking FinePointe Calibrator Technical Note for a simple procedure that will allow you to check the accuracy of your calibrator. If you find that your calibrator is outside of specification, please contact your local DSI Client Services department to receive a replacement at no charge. - Firmware Update for FinePointe WBP and NAM Controllers Baseline Accuracy
A firmware enhancement has being implemented which improves the baseline accuracy of system calibration. This has been accomplished by more thoroughly venting the internal reservoir pressure during calibration. The firmware is available at no charge and can be downloaded from the DSI Software and Firmware Updates web page.
Please use the following link to access the “Updating FinePointe Firmware” Technical Note for simple instructions on the downloading and installation of this Firmware Enhancement.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding either of these procedures, please contact Technical Support.
