Two different licensing models are available with Ponemah:

• Perpetual License
  A perpetual licence is the ‘traditional’ model used to purchase software. You pay for your software licence up-front and have the right to use it indefinitely. Upgrades to new versions are then paid for when you decide it is time to upgrade and take advantage of new functionality or compatibility.
  
  If using a Perpetual license, the expiration date on a License file is set to either 3 months or 12 months from the time it is created. Every system gets 3 months, which permits the user access to any new version of the software if released within those 3 months. If you have purchased a software enhancement agreement (SEA) the expiration date will be set 12 months after it is created, as those under a SEA are permitted access to any new version that is released within a year of the agreement.
  
  
• Subscription License
  With a subscription licencing model you pay a per use fee, either monthly or annually, which allows you to use the software during the subscription term. The key difference being you don’t own the software, instead you lease it. The subscription payment includes your software licences and access to new versions of the software as they are released.
  
  The expiration date for a Subscription License indicates the end date of the subscription. You will be notified as you begin to approach the subscription end date to allow time for renewals to occur without interrupting you use of the software. Notifications will occur when 30 days or less remain on the license.
