Data Loss Error Message in FinePointe
SYMPTOMS:
An error message is displayed stating "Error Data Loss"
SOLUTION:
Problems with the USB communication between the controller and the computer will cause the data loss errors. These errors can also cause other random calibration errors such as "Volume delivered too slowly" (see WBP Calibration Errors and Corrective Action)
The two most common causes are the USB cable is not plugged in securely or the FinePointe WBP controller's internal motherboard is not functioning appropriately.
USB Cable is not plugged in securely
To troubleshoot the USB connection to the computer, please try the following:
- Make sure the USB cable is plugged into the computer securely
- Switch the USB cable to a different USB 2.0 port on the computer
- Replace the USB cable with another USB 2.0 cable.
- DSI sells a powered USB hub that we highly recommend using with your system to prevent USB connection issues and preventing data loss.
