FinePointe hardware can only be used by one instance of FinePointe at a time. If FinePointe fails to completely disconnect from a hardware station after an earlier recording, it will be unable to launch the station for a new recording. A user might see the following errors/warnings:
To resolve this problem, 1) power down the FinePointe hardware and 2) restart FinePointe's acquisition engine: FinePointe Server.
FinePointe Server can be restarted by rebooting the computer.
If the computer cannot be rebooted, FinePointe Server can be restarted manually through the following steps:
- Open the Windows Services application.
- Restart the FinePointe Server service.
After restarting the FinePointe Server service, open FinePointe and re-launch the station.
