Symptoms

When setting up operators in the iPRECIO Management Software for the SMP-200, the software unexpectedly closes.

AND

1. The user is using Windows 7, and version 1.2 or lower of the iPRECIO Management Software for the SMP-200. 

OR

2. The user is using Windows XP, and version 1.2, and at the bottom of the software it indicates: "USBCOM.Problem" with a red dot.

Reason

For #1. Version 1.2 of the iPRECIO Management Software has not been tested with Windows 7, and there are a few issues when trying to use it.  

For #2. Windows XP recognizes the hardware but can't install the drivers because it does not have administrator privileges.

Solution

For #1. The user should upgrade to Version 1.3.258 (or better).  It is a free upgrade.

For #2. Try plugging the iPRECIO Management Station into a different USB port.  If it fails to detect the station, the user will need to have a Windows Administrator log in to install the drivers for the management station.
