Symptoms

User receives Error 1609 when installing the iPRECIO Managment Software for the SMP-200 pump. 

And

The user is using a non-English version of Windows.

Solution

For proper installation of the iPRECIO Management Software, a local group named Users needs exist in Windows.  If this group does not exist, there will be an error (Error 1609) during installation.  This problem is commonly seen with non-English versions of Windows that have a different name for the Users group (i.e. Utilisateurs in the French version).

To work around this problem, create a local group named Users and add all Windows user accounts that need to use the application, and the necessary administrative account needed to install.  The group cannot be deleted after the installation, or else the software will no longer work.
