The JET RIP Chest and Abdomen modules contain a non-removable, non-rechargeable Lithium / Manganese Oxide battery. They are designed with a battery life that will operate for at least 2700 hours without replacing the module over a span of one year. This is based on (100) 27 hour tests. The electrical connectors will function for at least 100 connect/disconnect cycles.
To assure battery depletion does not occur during storage, it is recommended to have the modules disconnected from anything and stored individually in a plastic bag.
To test the batteries in either the Chest or Abdomen module the voltage can be measured between the positive (+) and negative (-) snaps. When the batteries in the modules are good they should have a voltage between the snaps of approx. 1.45 to 1.47 Volts.
