This article covers how to proceed when the users sees a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) when installing the FinePointe Software.
Depending on the Windows 10 version (especially for Windows 10 2004 version ) , the following problem may occur during the installation of FinePointe software (generally up to the version 2.9):
Just prior to the completion of the installation the Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) occurs, with the stop code “PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA" and "What failed" is listed as hardlock.sys -error”.
The blue screen appears as below. The messages may be displayed in a different language, dependent on the language initially selected for the OS:
This problem with the installation of FinePointe is caused by the incompatibility of Windows with the Sentinel HASP driver provided with the installation media files of FinePointe .
Restart the computer and in case that the BSoD persists, restart in Safe mode and restore Windows to a previous status (prior to installation) .

An updated HASP driver is included in the ZIP file attached to this article (see below). The following steps need to be followed to successfully complete the installation of FinePointe:
The ZIP file contains a folder with two files. One is the Sentinel HASP installer, and the other is just a "read me" file.
- Replace the files on your installation media with these files. Within FinePointe installation, the files are located on the following path:
\Drivers\HASP HL License Dongle
- After replacing these files on the installation media, run the installation of FinePointe.
