Short duration artifacts may be marked as spikes despite exceeding max amplitude in NeuroScore v3.2.1
Symptoms
In NeuroScore v3.2.1, artifacts having a very short duration might be detected as spikes when using the Spike Train detector even if their amplitude is greater than the maximum amplitude threshold.
Explanation
The oscillations we can see immediately before and after the artifactual 'spike' are ringing artifacts from a FIR filter (what we see is the impulse response of the filter).
In the example above, the negative oscillations exceed the threshold but they do not exceed the maximum threshold, so they are considered valid spikes.
The overall graph element is considered a valid spike although the positive oscillation in the middle exceeds the maximum threshold.
This issue has been notified to the development group.
Workaround
Simply run an amplitude detector with settings similar to those shown below:
A 'Signal-Invalid' marker will be inserted automatically.
Artifactual Spike Trains will still be detected and marked but they won't appear in reports or in grids.
