Calibrating WBP- Water forcefully Coming out of the Top of the Calibrator
Issue: Water is Shooting out of the Top of Calibrator during WBP Calibration
SYMPTOMS:
Water is coming out of the top of the calibrator.
Why this can occur:
Attempt to calibrate without a calibrator attached. The calibration will fail and then we re-attaching the calibrator and attempting to calibrate again. The "geyser" might appear and the calibration will fail.
SOLUTION:
This happens when you try to calibrate the system without the calibrator connected and then you retry after the calibrator has been connected. The WBP controller follows a minimum duty cycle and when the calibrator is not connected, it disrupts the cycle. Follow these instructions for calibration after the geyser scenario:
- Make sure the calibrator is connected to the WBP controller and the water level is back to the fill line.
- Ensure there are is not an air bubble in the inner water column or just below it.
- Power cycle the controller by turning it off, wait ~10 seconds and turn it back on again.
- Calibrate from the home page and it should no longer geyser.
Warning
Ensure the hole in the lid of the calibrator is not covered.
Important
Make sure no water is present in the Calibrator tubing. You will need to make sure to dry out the tubing before using it again. Some useful methods to remove water.
- Position the tubing to ensure water drains out and leave for an extended period of time.
- Lasso the tubing to create a centrigal force to push the water out of the tubing.
- Use compressed air to push water out of the tubing.
