Viscosity Limitation of Aerogen Nebulizer Heads
According to Aerogen, the manufacturer of these nebulizer heads, the aerosolization rate declines and the head loses efficiency more rapidly at a viscosity of 1.3 cps and higher.
Frequent efficiency calibrations should be done to account for the rapid decline.
It is unclear how long a nebulizer head will last after repeated use of higher viscosity solutions, and DSI is not responsible for heads used under these conditions. Since these nebulizers are considered consumables, extras and replacements can be purchased through the normal channels.
