VIDEO: Calibrating the Buxco Multi-function Bias Flow
The following video demonstrations the process used to calibration the Buxco Multi-function Bias Flow. The steps used in this video are also described below.
To calibrate the Buxco Bias Flow you will need a calibrated flow meter similar to the TSI Model 4100 series Flow Meter. You will also need the filter assembly that comes with the bias flow.
Bias Flow Setup
- Connect the flow meter to the filter assembly tube supplied with the bias flow.
- Plug the filter assembly into the Chamber One port.
- Turn on the Bias Flow. Wait for all four port indicator LED’s to turn green.
- If any of the LED’s remains red is an indication that the flow rate is currently outside of allowable specifications.
- Select desired direction and flow rate by pressing either “Push Flow” or “Pull Flow” buttons. The pushed flow direction and flow rate LEDs will light up.
- Activate site bias flow by pressing “Bias Flow x” button. Deactivate by pressing again.
Calibrating Push Mode Bias Flow 1 through 4 at 1.0 L/M flow rate
- To begin the calibration process, set the Bias Flow in calibration Mode by pressing and holding the “Bias Flow 1” and “Push Flow” buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. When in calibration mode, the Push Flow Select Rate button and the Flow Rate indicator will flash. Also the Bias Flow 1 indicator should be lit.
- Check the flow rate for Chamber One as indicated by the flow meter. If necessary, adjust the flow rate by pressing either the “Push Flow” button to increase flow or pressing the “Pull Flow” to decrease the flow. The flow rate should increase or decrease in small incremental steps.
- Once the correct flow rate is achieved, press “Bias Flow 1” to move on to “Bias Flow 2” flow calibration. Move the flow meter and filter assembly to Chamber Two.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all four Chamber Ports are calibrated.
- When done, press the Bias Flow 4 button to exit the calibration mode and set the Bias Flow back to normal operation.
Calibrating Push Mode Bias Flow 1 through 4 at 2.5 L/M flow rate
- To begin the calibration process, set the Bias Flow in calibration Mode by pressing and holding the “Bias Flow 2” and “Push Flow” buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
Calibrating Pull Mode Bias Flow 1 through 4 at 1.0 L/M flow rate
- To begin the calibration process, set the Bias Flow in calibration Mode by pressing and holding the “Bias Flow 1” and “Pull Flow” buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
Calibrating Pull Mode Bias Flow 1 through 4 at 2.5 L/M flow rate
- To begin the calibration process, set the Bias Flow in calibration Mode by pressing and holding the “Bias Flow 2” and “Pull Flow” buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
