Stack Magnets to Increase PhysioTel Digital Activation Distance
Stacking multiple DSI ring magnets together creates a longer magnetic field which may increase the PhysioTel Digital Implant's activation distance. The following examples illustrate this point.
PTD-SIM
For example, a PTD-SIM was used in the following test to determine distance away the ring magnet could be and still turn the implant on.
1 Magnet |
2 Magnets |
3 Magnets |
4 Magnets |
Max units* = 8 |
Max units* = 12 |
Max units* = 13 |
Max units* = 14 |
Distance = 3.8 cm |
Distance = 5.5 cm |
Distance = 5.9 cm |
Distance = 6.4 cm |
*Each ‘unit’ is a notepad of paper
M01
Similarly, a PhysioTel Digital M01 was tested with the following results:
1 Magnet |
2 Magnets |
3 Magnets |
Distance = 6-7 cm |
Distance = 8-10 cm |
Distance = 10-13 cm |
Note: notepads were not used in testing with M01. The implant was in its sterile package.
