Care and Cleaning the Nebulizer Head
Proper cleaning and maintenance of the nebulizer head will help ensure reliable performance and extend the life of the device.
Routine Cleaning
Clean the nebulizer head after each use.

Decontamination
Decontamination procedures depend on the type of nebulizer head being used.
Aerogen® Lab Nebulizer Head
If an Aerogen Lab Nebulizer Head has been used with pathogenic materials and requires decontamination:
- Disconnect the nebulizer head from the power cord.
- Autoclave the unit using a flash steam sterilization cycle:
- Temperature: 134°C
- Duration: 4 minutes
Aerogen® Solo Nebulizer Head
The Aerogen Solo Nebulizer Head is not autoclavable.
If an Aerogen Solo Nebulizer Head has been exposed to pathogenic materials, it should be disposed of following your organization's biohazardous waste procedures. Do not attempt to sterilize or reuse the device after pathogen exposure.
