Return to Step 7: Data Acquisition Overview
Step 8: Data Review
Ponemah Data Review is a powerful, flexible post-processing tool that permits the user to tailor data visualization, analysis and reporting on any acquired data contained within the Experiment.
Use Review to:
- View results graphically using a combination of graphic display windows and numerically using the Derived Parameter and Data Reduction List Views.
- Refine results for greater accuracy should the default analysis module settings not be suitable for your subjects signal morphologies.
Loading Data in Review
Ponemah provides a flexible data loading tool that allows you to choose specific data sections to load into Review.
- Select Start Review from the Actions menu to launch the Load Review Data.
- Then, simply choose the subject(s), channel(s), and timeframe you wish to view and analyze.
- Save the data load settings as a Definition to easily load this same section of data in the future without having to remember the exact selections.
Data Analysis
Ponemah integrates validated algorithms developed from scientific and peer-reviewed journals to reliably obtain accurate, consistent results and quickly deliver these results to you. Ponemah performs real-time data analysis during Acquisition; however, all data may be reanalyzed within Review.
To access the analysis attributes:
- During Experiment Setup
- Select Setup | Subject Setup
- Choose the icon associated with the desired analysis module.
- During Acquisition
- Navigate to the Status List View within the main Ponemah window.
- Click on the Channel whose attributes are desired to be reviewed/updated.
- During Review
- From the Primary graph page, select the Display Pane associated with the channel whose analysis attributes are desired to be viewed/updated.
- Right-click and select Analyze [Attributes].
Displayed below is a typical Blood Pressure Attributes dialog.
Review Results
Results may be viewed graphically using a combination of graphic display windows and numerically using the derived data list views. The following actions can be executed to help sort data and find outliers:
- Derived List Views:
- Change the way derived data is logged to the spreadsheet or displayed in derived graphs (e.g. Trend) by updating the logging rate: simply choose Logging Rate from the Functions menu and update with your preference. Choose between time-based averages or beat-to-beat.
- Click the derived list view column headers to quickly sort data.
- Double-click a logged line of data to synchronize data with graphic displays.
- Change the way derived data is logged to the spreadsheet or displayed in derived graphs (e.g. Trend) by updating the logging rate: simply choose Logging Rate from the Functions menu and update with your preference. Choose between time-based averages or beat-to-beat.
- Graph Toolbar:
- Use the Zoom icons to expand/compress the data displayed in the graph.
- Use the Double-sided Arrow icon to synchronize spreadsheet data to the graphs.
- Use the Jump icons to advance to particular points of interest within the graph.
Toggle the following marks on/off using the appropriate Marker icon to get a better view of the waveform: - Validation Marks
- Change Marks
- Bad Data Marks
- Parser I.D.
- Data Breaks
Refine Results
Ponemah Review easily allows results to be refined for greater accuracy should the default Analysis Module settings not be suitable for your subjects signal morphologies.
Mismarked Waveform Cycle
- Manually edit validation marks by scrolling over the mark using your mouse until a double-sided arrow appears. Left-click and drag the mark to the appropriate position.
- Manually add/delete marks or entire cycles through the right-click menu and choosing the appropriate action.
- Reanalyze using the automated analysis by updating its settings and choosing to reanalyze the channel. Ponemah allows you to reanalyze the entire channel, the data visible in the graph, or from that specific point on the graph forward to the end of the loaded data set.
Handling Data with Noise and other Bad Data Marks
Ponemah uses Bad Data Marks to exclude reporting of derived calculations over the particular sections of data enveloped by these marks.
To add Bad Data Marks:
- Use the Analysis Modules' Noise tab (illustrated above) to automatically place Bad Data Marks around data sections based on user-defined settings.
- Manually place Bad Data Marks by right-clicking on the Primary graph page and choosing the Add Bad Data Mark option. Simply click-and-drag the Bad Data Mark boundaries to envelop the cycles you wish to exclude from the reporting.
Save Results
To save your analysis results, simply select the Experiment menu | Save Marks Section. Upon saving the Marks Section, Ponemah will automatically export the results from the current Review session into a Microsoft® Excel file and place it in the Experiment folder.
